Here is the simplest but tastiest way to cook Prawns, this is one of those recipes that you just take a tiny exta bit of effort and the results are so beneficial. Recipe by Dish Magazine
Ingredients
- 16 extra large prawns (buy the fatest ones, more expensive but well worth it).
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- salt and pepper
- bamboo skewers
- lime wedges to serve
Sauce
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tbsp kecap manis (thick, sweet soy sauce)
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 clove garlic
Method
- Make the sauce by placing all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly until thick and glossy.
- Set sauce aside but reheat if making ahead of time as butter will solidify on cooling.
- To prepare, thread a skewer through each whole prawn.
- Heat a little olive oil in a large saute pan or on a BBQ hot plate.
- Season the prawns and cook over a high heat until well coated then hold them over a seperate plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Place on a serving platter and serve with lime wedges.
