I first cooked these years ago when I was asked to recipe test them for a recipe book for students that went away on camp for a month and had to cook all their meals, My daughter renamed them Apple nappies due to their shape ,I think I would of called them something like and apple turnover !!. they are quite wonderful and super easy. recipe came from Annabel Langbein

Method

- Defrost he pastry and cut each sheet into 4 squares
- Place about 5 slices of apples ( depending on the size of the apples ) into the middle of the pastry squares

- Place in a small baking dish lined with baking paper
- combine the maple syrup and golden syrup and water together in a small jug
- Using a brush , brush the apple nappies with the maple syrup mixture generously ( there will be some left but you need this )

- Place back in oven for a further 1o minutes and repeat the basting
- Place back in oven for 5 minutes and repeat until the nappies are golden and and sticky
- Once cooked remove from the oven and if you have any syrup left drizzle over
